Home » Solar Roof Ventilation
Australian summers continue to get hotter and so do our homes. A great way to make your home or business cooler in summer is to use solar roof ventilation like the SolarKing solar fan. Roof temperatures in Australia during summer often reach 50 to 70°C and the best way to reduce these high temperatures in to install the SolarKing roof fan.
Many homes already wind driven “whirly birds” installed on roofs. Whirly birds rely on highs winds to produce any benefits and even then they only move around 100CBM per hour for each unit. Compare this to the SolarKing that moves 2100CBM per hour, there is no comparison.
At Paint a Roof, we provide high-quality solar roof ventilation fans in Adelaide to improve your home’s comfort and energy efficiency. Solar-powered roof vents harness the sun’s energy to power a fan that extracts hot air, reducing heat buildup in your roof space. This helps maintain a cooler home interior, lessening your reliance on air conditioning and ultimately saving on energy costs.
When you buy solar roof ventilation in Adelaide, you’re investing in a sustainable solution for your home. Unlike traditional “Whirly Bird” extraction units driven by wind and rising heat, solar roof ventilation fans operate on renewable energy, making them cost-effective, environmentally friendly and at the same time extracting more than 20 times the air from the roof cavity than the traditional units. They’re an ideal addition for homes in Adelaide, where hot summer months lead to increased heat in the roof cavity. This system works well alongside our other services, like heat reflective roofing membrane paints which repel the sun’s infrared rays from the roof which accounts for 50% of the heat build up inside the roof to further protect your home.

This latest V3 Model carries all the updates from the V2.6 model that now has a DC power connection so you can connect the 15V/240V Power pack so the fan can now operate after the sun goes down. The unit will switch to the power pack automatically and then when the solar level increases again the unit will switch back to solar operation. The unit will still turn off automatically when the temperature drops below 25 degrees. The V3 also carries the updates made to the V2.6, the motor now keeps a stable speed when operating on solar rather than instantly speeding up and slowing down as clouds go past. The motor still runs at max speed in full sun but won’t suddenly slow down and speed up when clouds pass. The V3 just like the V2.6 now has the lowest noise output and has very quiet operation.
Solar roof ventilation helps reduce heat buildup in your roof space, improves airflow, and reduces energy costs by lessening the need for air conditioning. It also prevents moisture accumulation, reducing the risk of mould and structural damage.
